GLASGOW’S Hielan Jessie threw a surprise party on Sunday (September 16) for a loyal member of staff who has worked in the pub for 25 years.

Barmaid May Milliken joined the east end bar the year after it opened.
And owner Billy Gold rewarded her loyalty with a surprise bash during what was meant to be her usual Sunday shift.
Colleagues covered May’s shift to allow her and special guests to enjoy a meal, supplied by caterer Alex Gordon Kilsyth, to celebrate the milestone.
The occasion was also used to raise funds for Capability Scotland.
Gold described May’s loyalty to the bar as “incredible” and a rare quality in the licensed trade today.
