DRINKS distributor Hi-Spirits has launched what it claims is the industry’s first draught vodka.
The Vodka One font has been trialled in a number of high street venues where it is said to have increased vodka sales and reduced product waste.
The font delivers a certified weights and measures 25ml or 35ml shot in one second. It also has built-in stock control software which allows licensees to easily cross-reference with EPOS and manual stock takes.
“We believe Vodka One is a wonderful piece of brand development and technology rolled into one,” said company chairman Jeremy Hill.
“Vodka One is crafted and five-times distilled in the United States and is delivered at a perfectly chilled one degree centigrade within one second.”
Meanwhile, Hi-Spirits is expanding its Antica Sambuca range with the addition of Antica Absinthe.
The 38% ABV spirit, which will be launched this month, combines classic Italian Sambuca with the botanicals that give absinthe its characteristic flavour – wormwood, green anise and fennel.
Hill said the new spirit aims to make Absinthe more accessible.
“Absinthe is an iconic spirit, but it also has a reputation which many people find daunting,” he said.
“By combining the flavours of absinthe with Antica Sambuca we’ve created a far more accessible spirit – it’s absinthe with a safety net.”
