A DUNDEE licensee says winning an award for cellar management has inspired him and his staff to new heights over the last year.
The Town Bar & Restaurant in Dundee was named Best Cellar, North Region, in last year’s Innserve Best Cellar Awards.
Judges praised the outlet’s excellent line cleaning regime, as well as its high level of stock organisation and safety in the cellar.
Licensee Ian Clunie was also praised for his commitment to staff training.
Clunie said the award win has been positive for staff and customers alike.
“I’ve proudly displayed my Innserve Best Cellar Award in the bar throughout my tenure as winner of the award, and will continue to do so,” he said. “It has not only been a talking point for regulars and visitors alike, but it has also proven to be inspirational for the staff, as they have had their expertise and hard work recognised by an industry award.”
The awards scheme rewards premises for best-in-class cellar management, highlighting the skill and commitment behind serving the perfect pint.
Judging for the 2012 Best Cellars Awards has already taken place, with the results to be announced in September.
