GLASGOW bar The Finnieston received a wave of support for its recent charity day.
Fishy Friday saw the Argyle Street venue give consumers the chance to sample a range of seafood matched with beers and wines to raise money for The Fishermen’s Mission, which helps fishermen and their families who have fallen on hard times.
A raffle, with prizes including meals for two at The Finnieston, Lebowskis and Ivy, and afternoon tea at the Butterfly & Pig, was also held.
As well as raising money for the charity, the event aimed to encourage consumers and chefs to use sustainable locally-caught fish.
Fishy Friday was part of a long-running fundraising campaign at The Finnieston, and sister bars Lebowskis in Glasgow and Edinburgh, under which the venues donate 50p from every portion of fish and chips sold to the charity.
