Plain alcohol labels under consideration

A BAN on alcohol branding and marketing and raising the legal drinking age are just some of the measures being considered by a House of Commons select committee.

As part of its inquiry into the UK government’s alcohol strategy, the health committee is consulting on a range of measures, including the introduction of plain packaging, reducing the strength of alcoholic drinks, increasing the legal drinking age, and the co-ordination of policy across the UK with the devolved administrations and the “impact of pursuing different approaches” to alcohol.
The consultation closes at noon on May 8.
