Hotel brand takes it easy in Glasgow

THE second easyHotel in Scotland opened its doors in Glasgow earlier this week.

Located in Hill Street, the new hotel has 125 bedrooms featuring the easyGroup’s orange branding on the walls and doors.
Room rates for the easyHotel Glasgow City start from ÂŁ25 per night, with an additional charge for TV, wi-fi and daily housekeeping. The hotel has no food and beverage offer, although there are vending machines offering snacks and drinks in reception.
The Glasgow hotel is a franchise operation, owned by a group of private investors and managed day-to-day by Glasgow-based Chardon Management.
Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, founder and chairman of the easyGroup, said the hotel aims to “offer more for less”.
“I’m delighted to bring our second Scottish hotel to Glasgow, host city for the 2014 Commonwealth Games,” he said. “It has a wealth of attractions and events that are of interest to both leisure and business visitors and this new easyHotel will allow them to enjoy the best of what the city has to offer – without the expense.”
The first Scottish easyHotel opened in Edinburgh’s Princes Street in 2010.
