AN Edinburgh city centre bar is on the market for the first time in 28 years.

New operators are sought for the Phoenix in Broughton Street, which has been run by Rosaleen Harley and John Murray since 1984 and is currently held on a lease from Punch Taverns.
Described as a “traditional public house with a modern theme”, the Phoenix has a self-contained function bar which is used for a range of events and operates as a comedy venue during the Festival.
Derek Burgoyne, director of selling agent Cornerstone, said he expects the business to attract a high level of interest from potential buyers.
