A BORDERS accommodation business is in line for expansion after recently changing hands.
Richard and Debra Hardy bought the Lazyday Cottages business in West Fishwick, near Berwick upon Tweed, for an undisclosed sum from its asking price of ÂŁ475,000.
The business comprises three luxury lodges, each with two bedrooms, living/dining/kitchen area, terrace, hot tub and sauna. Planning consent for a further three lodges and a separate owner’s house was secured by previous owners John and Katie Pilling, who developed the site in 2005.
Alistair Letham, a director with selling agent Colliers International, said the new owners aim to grow the current business and develop the site with the additional lodges and house.
“Lazyday Cottages is one of the best quality chalet developments where the standard is as good as, if not better, than many a five-star hotel,” he said. “The business is already well established making good profits and the development of the additional lodges will add to this already successful business.”
