SIGNATURE Pub Group has sold Aberdeen inn The Bieldside to local operator PB Devco.

The sale, for an undisclosed sum from an asking price of £1.5 million, adds the Bieldside to PB Devco’s eight-strong Aberdeen estate, which includes Soul and Babylon.
The inn will be run by Bob Calder – brother-in-law of PB Devco boss Stuart Clarkson – who has worked for the firm for 23 years and currently manages its Queen Vic outlet in Aberdeen’s Rosemount area.
“He is very keen to welcome new and existing customers as well as those who wish to return to The Bieldside,” said a spokesman for PB Devco.
Garreth Wood, who runs Signature with his brother Nic, said the decision to sell The Bieldside after eight years will allow the firm to focus on the acquisition of city centre bars.
Knight Frank’s David Reid said the sale demonstrates that “even in a difficult market, quality businesses will always sell”.
