HOTELIERS seeking an island business could be in luck – two properties on the Isle of Skye have just come on to the market.
The Kings Arms Hotel in Kyleakin and the Dunollie Hotel in Broadford are both part of Oxford Hotels & Inns’ portfolio and are on the market through Colliers International.
With origins said to stretch as far back as the 17th century, The Kings Arms now has 81 bedrooms along with a restaurant, bar and staff accommodation facilities.
Located close to the Skye Bridge, it’s situated in the village of Kyleakin – home to the original ferry port for the service from Kyle of Lochalsh.
In nearby Broadford, meanwhile, The Dunollie Hotel is said to occupy a prominent main road position in the village with sea views.
With its 86 bedrooms, bars and restaurant, and staff accommodation, the hotel is said to draw business from both locals and tourists.
Alistair Letham, a director with Colliers International, said the two businesses complement each other.
“With The Kings Arms Hotel trading on a seasonal basis only, and Dunollie open year round, there is good management synergy between the two,” he said.
“That said the hotels individually are good stand-alone businesses.”
Offers around £1.25 million are sought for The Kings Arms while the Dunollie Hotel has a price tag of £1.6m.
