Historic Wishaw venue The Commercial Hotel has come to the market after spending 20 years under the care of Manorview Hotels.
Originally a coaching Inn dating back to the 1800s, The Commercial Hotel now offers 10 ensuite letting bedrooms, as well as a bar, lounge and restaurant area.
The property also incorporates a separate events space with a capacity of 220, which previously operated as a nightclub but now hosts a variety of functions including private parties and charity events.

The hotel, which is complemented by a large beer garden and car park, is described as presenting to ‘an excellent standard throughout’.
Sitting in a prominent position in Wishaw, around 15 miles south east of Glasgow city centre, The Commercial currently serves as a popular destination for locals as well as business travellers.
Manorview Hotels, which has owned the property for the past 20 years, said: “We have taken the decision to sell as part of a strategic refocus on our core portfolio.

“The Commercial was the very first hotel in the Manorview collection and we are incredibly proud of the role it has played in our journey and of the loyal customer base it has built within the Wishaw community.
“While the venue remains a strong and well-presented trading asset, we believe The Commercial Hotel represents an outstanding opportunity for a new owner to build on its established reputation, expand the events and food and beverage offering, and unlock its full potential within a thriving local market.”
Christie & Co’s Brian Sheldon said: “The sale of The Commercial Hotel will be of interest to a wide-ranging buyer set, from individual to regional operators as well as the corporate sector both in Scotland and throughout the UK.
“The hotel offers great opportunities to further expand the events business as well as the F&B side of the business.”
The Commercial Hotel is on the market with an asking price of £950,000 for the freehold.
