Idyllic 300-year-old Hebridean restaurant and bar up for sale

On the unspoilt Southern Hebridean island of Gigha, The Boathouse is an acclaimed outpost of hospitality – and it is up for sale.

Christie & Co have been instructed to sell the popular seafood restaurant, which overlooks Ardminish Bay, on the small community-owned isle west of the Kintyre peninsula, around three hours road and ferry travel from Glasgow.

The Boathouse has earned a place in the Michelin guide for serving fresh, seasonal Scottish seafood, within its 300-year-old building, with original features such as wooden beams and stone walls.

With room for up to 40 patrons, and an outdoor decked area with panoramic sea views which can seat up to 70, the property includes two glamping pods which have historically been used as staff accommodation.

Christie & Co’s Tony Spence suggested that The Boathouse combined a well-established business with a unique lifestyle opportunity.

“We are delighted to be acting on behalf of the tenant for this well-performing restaurant situated on the Isle of Gigha.

“The Boathouse has a great reputation for serving fine Scottish seafood on the West Coast of Scotland, and it is now available by way of assignation.”

The Boathouse is being sold leasehold with an asking price of £100,000.
