Independent blenders, bottlers and distillers Douglas Laing & Co has re-launched its Premium Scottish Gin, The Teasmith.
The brand has undergone a full refresh, with a bespoke new bottle design, created in-house, that brings its story to life, celebrating its origins, botanical selection, and flavour profile.
While maintaining the original recipe and logo, the re-launch is said to offer gin enthusiasts an experience that honours Teasmith’s history while showcasing a bold new chapter.
Crafted using distillation in traditional copper Alembic stills distilled at Strathearn Distillery in the Scottish Highlands, Teasmith undergoes a two-stage process.
First, Sri Lankan tea leaves are steeped in alcohol and gently distilled, revealing notes of vanilla, soft orange sweetness, and exotic spice. Then the second distillation blends botanicals –including juniper, liquorice root, orange peel, coriander, angelica root, and Grains of Paradise – vapour-infused to enhance the gin’s refined character.
The result is said to be a balanced, complex spirit with a distinctive tea-inspired profile, perfect for classic cocktails such as the Last Word, Southside, White Lady, or Tuessetto, or in a refreshing Teasmith & Tonic.
The Teasmith is committed to supporting the Sri Lankan tea industry, ‘recognising the dedication of those who harvest the unique tea leaves at its heart’, and makes a dedicated annual charitable donation, giving back to the communities that make its gin possible.
