RTD brand Hooch has announced the launch of a cherry variant aimed at tapping into nostalgia driven interest in the flavour.
Cherries are reportedly seeing a surge in popularity amongst consumers – online barometer Pinterest has predicted ‘Cherry Coded’ to be the flavour and hue of 2025, with searches on the platform up 325% year-on-year.
With both the Gen Z and Millennial demographics infusing cherries into everything from manicures to menus, the RTD industry is reporting the value of cherry flavourings up by 225% with an impressive reported volume of + 182%.
In what it described as an ‘agile’ move to take advantage of this flavour nostalgia, Hooch owner Global Brands said it was getting ‘ahead of the curve’ by having Cherry Hooch out in time for this year’s warmer weather.
Brand manager Jacob Barrett said: “As demand for bold fruit flavours continues to grow, Cherry Hooch is the perfect way to shake up the drinks aisle and on-trade venues.
“Whether enjoying it straight from the can or mixing it up in creative cocktails, this new flavour is here to make a statement.
“Bursting with juicy cherry flavour and a signature Hooch fizz, this latest launch is set to be the ultimate beverage for those looking to bring a vibrant twist to their refreshments this spring.”
With a vodka kick at 3.4% ABV, Cherry Hooch is described as made for sipping in beer gardens, and is now available in a 440ml can format, joining the line up alongside the classic Lemon Hooch, Raspberry Pink Hooch and Tropical Blue Hooch.
A larger 700ml bottle will be available later in the year, in time for the summer season.
