Head for the hills and the Highlands hospitality hub of Aviemore

Aviemore’s popular Ski-ing Doo restaurant and bar is on the market through Christie & Co, offering an opportunity to acquire the leasehold of a licensed premises on the main street of a thriving tourist destination.

Famous for its ski slopes, Aviemore, within the Cairngorms National Park, is easily accessible via the A9 trunk road and is on the main railway line between Edinburgh and Inverness.

The town is known as a great base for families, with many attractions and activities, alongside the winter sports and hillwalking provided by the Cairngorm Mountains.

The Ski-ing Doo has been operated by the current owners for 10 years and has reportedly come to the market as they focus their attention on other venues.

Its restaurant is at ground floor level and can accommodate around 37, while the bar – The Doo Below – is accessed via a staircase, and benefits from a further 60 covers and a small stage area.

Christie & Co noted that the quirky décor in the restaurant and bar, as well as the historical memorabilia, provides a ‘real feel of authenticity’, and suggested that the business was ‘consistently busy’ with local customers and tourists.

Business agent at Christie & Co, Simon Watson, said: “I am delighted to be given the opportunity to sell The Ski-ing Doo. This is a fantastic opportunity for a new owner to continue its 30+ years of trading history and would suit a hands-on operator or couple looking to benefit from the rich history.”

The Ski-ing Doo is on the market with a leasehold asking price of £50,000
