“Music of the sixties was a playground for experimentation, and no album showcases this more than Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

The Beatles, having retired from touring, created one of the first ever concept albums and experimented with techniques such as tape manipulation.

This serve is inspired by the album, with each ingredient telling a piece of the story.

Red bell pepper represents the eponymous title track of the album, bringing fruit, sugar, and acid tying the drink together.

Campari, which in the sixties would have contained Carmine Red, a red dye derived from beetles (get it?)

Hendrick’s provides “A Little Help from My Friends” called juniper, rose and cucumber to provide added depth to the drink.

A cucumber strip then represents the use of tape manipulation that is heavily featured throughout the album.”

Sgt Pepper:

• Hendrick’s

• Red bell pepper cordial

• Campari

• Cucumber strip to garnish
