Vodka fusion of Indian and British heritage wins big internationally

Premium vodka brand Desi Daru has won further awards at the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2024.

In a blind-tasting competition against over 300 vodkas, Desi Daru took a Gold Medal for its Mango Vodka and a Silver Medal for its Original offering.

Founder Mohit Singh shared: “We are absolutely delighted and humbled by this result at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Crafting the recipe for our vodkas has been an exciting challenge, and we have been dedicated to using only the highest quality ingredients to deliver the best possible product.

“Our Alphonso mangoes in particular, play a pivotal role in ensuring the exceptional taste of our Mango Vodka. Winning these medals in such a prestigious global competition fills us with immense pride and reaffirms our dedication to excellence.”

Born out of the creative vision of British-born Indians Mohit Singh and Aneet Kaur, Desi Daru Mango Vodka is said to exemplify the best of two worlds, capturing the essence of both India and Britain.

Distilled in collaboration with the Wood Brothers Distillery, Desi Daru has received acclaim since its launch last year, including taking the World’s Best Flavoured Vodka title at the World Drink Awards and five Master Medals at the Vodka Masters.

These awards have helped open doors for the brand to be stocked at some of the UK’s top establishments – from Mayfair’s Michelin-starred Benares to Fitzrovia’s Pahli Hill, the glitzy Farzi Café and trendy Hoppers.

Desi Daru has also recently launched a UK cocktail competition ‘Culture Colliders’, celebrating the fusion of British and Indian heritage through the art of mixology.
