Boutique hotel offers both Highlands hospitality and Harry Potter magic

Just moments away from the famous Glenfinnan viaduct, The Prince’s House Hotel – now on the market through Graham + Sibbald – is described as an ‘outstanding’ nine-bedroom boutique hotel with a ‘roaring’ food and beverage business.

The hotel is a well-known institution serving residents and tourist alike, on a spot that combines genuine Scottish history with a big dollop of made-up movie magic.

Up for sale as a turn-key operation, The Prince’s House benefits from a large open plan bar and bistro overlooking the adjacent burn, a dining room with breakfasting conservatory with views across the glen, and a ‘warm, inviting atmosphere’ blending traditional features with modern fixtures and fittings.

The nine good-sized rooms each has its own unique design, and room occupancy reportedly sits at a high level throughout the season, with the hotel commanding premium room rates for the area.

Graham + Sibbald reckon that The Prince’s House ‘offers a great business opportunity for the right buyer to build upon an already stellar reputation and frequent return guests. It is evident the current owners have poured a lot of love and money into the property and as retirement nears, they leave behind a fantastic business’.

Current owners, Kieron and Ina Kelly, said: “After 22 years at The Prince’s House it is time for us to move on. There has been a lot of hard work in developing the hotel from where it was when we took over, to where it is now. The business has still to reach its full potential, but that is a job for someone else.”

Director at G+S, Peter Seymour, commented: “This outstanding hotel has proven itself to be a key player in Glenfinnan which attracts large numbers of visitors throughout the year.  Glenfinnan is a highly popular tourist destination because of its outstanding landscape, its history and, of course, the famous Viaduct which features in all of the Harry Potter films.

“The sellers have decided that now is the time to retire from the trade, leaving behind a well presented and highly profitable business for the next owner to enjoy.”

Graham + Sibbald are inviting offers in the region of £500,000 for the freehold interest.
