From Brazil to the best bars in the world

THE forests of Brazil provided the inspiration for the latest addition to the Monin range of syrups.

The company’s Jabuticaba flavoured syrup was developed in response to what the company described as a growing interest in Brazilian flavours.

Jabuticaba is a berry that grows on the Plinia Cauliflora, or Brazilian grape tree.

Three to four centimetres in diameter with a purplish-blue colour, the berry provides a fresh flavour which Monin reckons is ‘perfect for cocktails, mocktails, iced teas and culinary creations’.

Lee Hyde of Monin said Brazilian flavours ‘are the fastest growing global flavours, with the fastest growth rate of 5.6% year on year in the US, and we expect this trend to have a presence in the UK’.
