Closest licensed venue to Culloden Moor is on the market

CULLODEN Moor is a place that will be familiar to most Scottish people – even those that have never been there.

The scene of the last pitched battle on British soil, Culloden saw the Jacobite army of Bonnie Prince Charlie routed by government forces under the duke of Cumberland, ending the Jacobite uprising that had begun the previous year.

The site of the battle, on the outskirts of Inverness, attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors every year, bolstered by the recent success of the Outlander TV series, which is set during the uprising.

Now, the closest licensed venue to the historic battlefield has come onto the market, giving a buyer the chance to own a venue near to one of Scotland’s most popular and important historical sites.

The Culloden Moor Inn sports an 80-cover restaurant with a separate public bar – the Keppoch Bar – a substantial beer garden and its own carpark.

The inn is also close to Inverness itself, located only five miles from the city centre. The business is described as being primarily food-led.

“The availability of the Culloden Moor Inn represents an ideal opportunity for motivated purchasers to acquire a very popular restaurant and bar located in a unique trading location on the outskirts of the city of Inverness,” said Cornerstone Business Agents, which is marketing the Culloden Moor Inn.

“The business is much loved and trades with a loyal and regular custom but there is also huge opportunity to expand the trade further.”
