Serving the UK’s lasting appetite for grilled Americana

Focus on BBQ & street food

THE popularity of American-style burgers is only set to grow across the UK, reckons international bakery group Lantmännen Unibake, with the business introducing a new collection of recipes designed to help operators ‘premiumise’ their burger menus.

The recipes, from the company’s Americana brand, include the Oklahoma Smash Burger – a ‘smashed’ beef patty topped with sweet onions, smoky bacon and Monteray Jack cheese which is served in a brioche bun – and which the company expects to prove particularly popular in Scotland – as well as the Florida Classic Cuban Burger, Californian French Dip Burger and Tennessee Hot Chicken Burger.

“In the current financial climate, we know customers are on the hunt for value for money and a treat for when they do spend,” said marketing manager Samantha Winsor. “Our research shows an American-inspired gourmet burger topped with a premium bun will meet those needs.”
