Investors snap up second Drymen hotel in a year

A PRIVATE investment company has grown its footprint in the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park with the acquisition of The Buchanan Arms Hotel & Spa in Drymen.

The 52-bedroom hotel was sold by Graham & Sibbald in an off-market deal.

The property is located five miles from Loch Lomond and its wealth of leisure activities, as well as 20 miles from Glasgow.

Originally constructed in the 19th century as a coaching inn, the hotel has been extensively refurbished and extended through the years.

In addition to its letting bedrooms it now also includes a lounge bar, restaurants and conference/function rooms as well as spa facilities including a swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi, steam room, gym, squash courts and treatment rooms.

The hotel was bought by private investors who last year purchased another Drymen property, the Winnock Hotel.

Both hotels will be managed and operated by management firm New World Hospitality.

“The Buchanan Arms Hotel has been a popular leisure venue and destination for many years; located in this attractive area close to Loch Lomond to the north of Glasgow.

“The range of facilities and the useful garden area will give the new owners significant scope to expand and develop the business at the Buchanan; plus of course coupled with their other hotel in Drymen.”

The sale price was not disclosed.
