–A BUYER looking to pick up an established hotel business in Aberdeenshire might be interested in The Douglas Arms Hotel in Banchory.
Located prominently on the town’s High Street, the hotel boasts eight letting bedrooms, a lounge bar and café bar and an outdoor balcony terrace.
There’s also a separate restaurant space currently used as a bike shop, which could be developed by a new owner. A four-room flat is included in the sale.
Current owners Steven Ross and Scott Hutcheon have owned the hotel for 16 years, successfully developing the business over that time. It is said to count locals, visiting fishermen, tourists and golfers among its customer base, in addition to commercial customers.
Alistair Letham of selling agent Graham & Sibbald said Royal Deeside ‘has perennially been a popular destination; maybe even more so now’.
“The Douglas Arms Hotel with its prominent High Street position is well placed to reap the benefits of both its town centre and main Deeside Road location,” said Letham. “The business is well established and has the opportunity to further develop and grow utilising the former lounge bar/restaurant. The inclusion of a four-room private flat is ideal for resident owners.”
Graham & Sibbald is seeking offers over £550,000 for The Douglas Arms Hotel.
