A HIGHLAND property developer is looking for an ‘experienced hospitality operator’ to take on the lease of a sizeable gastropub in Elgin.
The unit, on Elgin High Street, has a capacity of over 340 people, a 300 square-metre beer garden and what’s described as a ‘very large’ commercial kitchen.
Property developer Gairland, the owner of the unit, is offering it to an experienced operator for a rent of £50,000 + VAT per year.
“This unit offers the ability to develop a distinctive hospitality concept at scale.”
Gairland’s letting manager, Eric Beaton, said the property ‘sits at the heart of Scotch whisky country’, with a strong local and visiting trade.
“We feel there is a real opportunity here to take on this very large unit and create a unique destination,” said Beaton.
“With a licensed capacity of over 340 and a prominent frontage on Elgin High Street, this unit offers the ability to develop a distinctive hospitality concept at a truly commercial scale, and free of tie.
“The opportunity is further enhanced by the large kitchen area, which offers the potential to host a number of ghost kitchen brands in addition to servicing the unit. The licence would also allow for a retail element to diversify revenue.
“Recent interior work – including exposing large stone walls – has further enhanced the building’s charm and character,” added Mr Beaton.
