Douglas Hotel and Shorehouse hit the market
A FAMOUS fixture on the Isle of Arran, the Douglas Hotel, has come on to the market.
Selling agent Graham & Sibbald described the hotel in Brodick as a “trophy hotel”.
Hotel consultant at the agency, Alistair Letham, explained: “Following the purchase over ten years ago, around £8m was lavished on the complete refurbishment of the property, creating this boutique-style hotel that won The Scottish Boutique Hotel of the Year in 2020.
“In complete walk-in condition, the business has been operated entirely under management with a dedicated general manager and an excellent team of loyal and local staff.”
As well as 21 letting bedrooms, a bar, bistro, lounges and alfresco terraces, the hotel includes the Shorehouse, a 13 apartment self-catering aparthotel.
The hotel and the Shorehouse are available for sale in one or two lots with offers invited at around £3.25m for The Douglas Hotel and over £695,000 for The Shorehouse.
Letham described the availability as “both an outstanding and rare opportunity for new owners to take over a beautiful hotel property and established business in one of Scotland’s most popular island destinations”.
“The additional availability of The Shorehouse provides the spread of accommodation style and type to complement each other,” said Letham.
