LEITH is set for a new cocktail bar and restaurant after the former Steel Coulson taproom on Henderson Street changed hands in a deal brokered by The Restaurant Agency.
The leasehold for the premises (pictured above) was acquired by Fabrizio Cioffi and family, who own and operate The Old Poison Distillery at The Biscuit Factory in Leith. They plan to launch Bittersweet cocktail bar this month.
Alan Goldie, director of The Restaurant Agency, said: “We are delighted to have secured a buyer for the lease offering for our client and step into the limelight, Fabrizio Cioffi and family who are delighted to have secured the site and are in the midst of preparing to open before Easter.”
The Restaurant Agency has also sold the leasehold interest for Todd’s Café in Marchmont on behalf of Kyle McIntyre. New owner Kevan McDonald of Mel’s Marvels Limited (MML) is said to be planning to open a gelato café next month.
