OPERATORS seeking a coastal accommodation business might be interested in properties at opposite ends of the country currently on the books of Graham & Sibbald.

The property agent is marketing the Clonyard Hotel on the Solway coast near Dalbeattie, which has been under the same family ownership for 50 years; and the Arch Inn in Ullapool.

Located on the shores of Loch Broom in the Highland town of Ullapool, The Arch Inn is described as a “stunning” property with ten letting bedrooms, a restaurant and two beer gardens.

Graham & Sibbald is marketing The Arch Inn with a price tag of offers over £1.3 million on behalf of Michael Beasley and Robert Hicks, who have owned and operated the business for the past 13 years.

The property firm’s Peter Seymour said: “This is a stunning opportunity for an owner/operator to take on one of the best leisure businesses in Ullapool.

“The turnover of the business and profits are excellent and, given its seafront position, it offers an exceptional business on the North Coast 500.”

At the opposite end of the country, the Clonyard Hotel near the town of Dalbeattie in Dumfries & Galloway is being marketed by Graham & Sibbald at offers around £925,000.
Described as a “fantastic lifestyle country house hotel”, the property is located at the southern end of White Loch on the Solway Coast 300 (SW300) tourist route.

The hotel, which is being sold by Nicholas Thompson whose family has owned it for more than 50 years, has 15 bedrooms and a log cabin, which is currently used as self-catering accommodation; the agent said there is “ample opportunity” to develop further accommodation, subject to planning approval, in the seven acres of land around the hotel.
Graham & Sibbald’s Peter Seymour said: “This business is a highly-profitable and easy-to-run lifestyle opportunity for an experienced operator, however, there is also significant potential to increase sales for a more enthusiastic chef-proprietor or husband and wife team. The hotel would also suit small to medium-sized group operators looking for a site to develop and expand.”
