Operators to show Gratitude

New venue to launch after Morningside unit changed hands

THAI tapas and cocktails are to take centre stage in a new venue which is set to open in Edinburgh’s Morningside after the former Nonna’s Kitchen unit changed hands.

The premises, on Morningside Road, was sold by The Restaurant Agency in conjunction with Cornerstone Business Agents on behalf of the Stornaiuolo family, which has run the business there for the past ten years. The Restaurant Agency said the sale will allow Gino Stornaiuolo to focus on his Paolozzi Restaurant & Bar on Forrest Road, and his parents to retire.

Set to be renamed Gratitude Thai Lounge Bar, the unit will offer Thai food and cocktails under the leadership of Kate Singh together with her husband, brother and father.

It will offer a contemporary dining experience and Thai-inspired cocktails.

Alan Goldie, director of The Restaurant Agency, said: “We were delighted to have played an active role in bringing Kate Singh and her family to the site and are equally pleased that they chose Nonna’s to be their unit of choice for their brand.

“The restaurant will be called Gratitude Thai Lounge Bar with the concept of Thai Tapas and NE Thailand Cuisine (ESAAN).

“Kate advised that on top of an authentic and contemporary dining experience they will add in classic Thai-inspired cocktails alongside a chosen range of Thai lagers and wines to complement the food.”
