A CONTEMPORARY Italian wine bar is up and running in the capital after the venue changed hands in a deal brokered by The Restaurant Agency.
Mixologist Alessandro Palumbo, Rachel Palumbo and Andrew Kearns launched their first venue, Hey Palu, in the former Fat Pony outlet on Bread Street after acquiring the leasehold of the unit.
Hey Palu is described as a modern Italian bar inspired by Fellini’s La Dolce Vita, with a drinks offer influenced by the Italian aperitivo style of drinking. The new owners have redesigned the venue to incorporate an Italian theme with vintage artwork and bistro-style furniture.
Alan Goldie, director of The Restaurant Agency, said: “I am sure this will be the first of many Hey Palu Italian bars across Scotland and who knows it may well be a brand that can expand across the UK and beyond.”
