WHAT’S claimed to be the oldest gin in the world has been created by Renfrew whisky specialist House of MacDuff, and is being distributed to the on-trade by Huffman’s.
Half of Fifty/50 Gin has been matured for 20 years, the first ten of which were spent in virgin oak casks to impart colour and flavour, before being transferred into ex-whisky casks for another decade.
The barrel-aged spirit is then married with newly-distilled London Dry gin to create a spirit which is said to be “unlike anything on the market”.
The 50% ABV spirit is packaged in 50cl barrel-style bottles.
