Who will storm Kincraig Castle?

Four-star country house hotel in the Highlands for sale

Kincraig Castle Hotel
Set within ten acres of private grounds, Kincraig Castle Hotel is a popular wedding venue.

OPERATORS looking for a historic hotel business in the Highlands may be interested in the centuries-old Kincraig Castle Hotel.

Situated off the main A9 on the North Coast 500 route near Invergordon, 25 minutes outside Inverness, the hotel is said to benefit from passing trade and is also near the Glenmorangie and Dalmore distilleries.

The castle, which is set within ten acres of private grounds, including a tree-lined drive, was once home to the Mackenzie clan.

Set across three floors, the baronial-style former mansion house offers “spectacular views” over the estate towards the Cromarty Firth and the Black Isle.

The hotel comprises 15 en suite letting bedrooms, a large residents’ lounge and reading room, a commercial kitchen and the Alexander Restaurant, which currently holds one AA Rossette.

The business also caters to weddings, with a permanent 250-capacity marquee situated within the grounds; it is said to have 48 weddings booked over the next 18 months, with bookings for exclusive use of the hotel said to be increasing.

Peter Seymour of Graham & Sibbald, which is marketing the business, said: “The Kincraig Castle Hotel offers either a husband and wife team, or group, an excellent opportunity to acquire a well-rounded and robust business on the North Coast 500 route. The hotel is situated close enough to Inverness to draw weddings, functions and diners to the hotel and restaurant. This is a beautifully presented property with real development prospects.”

Offers in the region of £1.8 million are sought for the heritable interest in the property and business.
