New owner for old town outlet

A FORMER Mexican restaurant in Edinburgh has changed hands for the first time in over 30 years.

The lease to Pancho Villa’s, in the capital’s old town, was snapped up by restaurateur Ruori Stewart, who also owns The Apartment restaurant on Edinburgh’s Barclay Place.

He plans to trade the restaurant as a pop-up of The Apartment until it undergoes a refurbishment, which will see Stewart bring a “new and unique” concept to the venue.

Tony Spence, business agent at Christie & Co, which marketed the leasehold, said the property “generated a good amount of interest from the outset”, with the sale exceeding the £100,000 asking price.
