Malt maker turns to gin

Tobermory Gin
Tobermory Gin is bottled at 43% ABV.

A WHISKY distillery has drawn from its malt making heritage to create its first gin in its 200-plus year history.

Tobermory Distillery on the Isle of Mull, which produces the Tobermory and Ledaig single malts, has created a new spirit – referred to as Botanical #1 – which is said to give the gin “standout character”.

Tobermory Gin features 13 botanicals, including juniper and elderflower, as well as Hebridean tea grown locally on Mull.

Notes of fresh juniper are said to be complemented by citrus, coriander, and a “touch of rich maltiness” from the Botanical #1.
