WHYTE & Mackay has updated two of its whisky brands in the past month, with additions to its Jura range and a fresh look for Whyte & Mackay to mark the brand’s 175th anniversary.

The new Jura expressions, Tide and Time, are both 21 years old, with Tide widely available and Time exclusive to travel retail.

Tide (46.7% ABV) has been matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and virgin American white oak casks, while Time (47.2% ABV) has been matured in ex-bourbon barrels and finished in ex-peated malt casks. Both expressions are priced around £150 a bottle.

The new-look Whyte & Mackay bottle, meanwhile, has been designed to have a more contemporary look in order to appeal to younger consumers.

However, the label continues to stress the brand’s heritage as well as highlighting that the liquid is “triple matured for a smoother, richer taste”.
