GLASGOW gin bar Gin 71 went international recently when it hosted a paired dinner for Australian gin brand Brookie’s.
The three-course dinner was accompanied by matching cocktails, which also featured on Gin 71’s ‘Gin Genius’ menu – a monthly list of serves created by staff members.
The featured cocktails included Hungry For Apples?, which mixed Brookie’s Dry Gin with blueberry syrup, apple juice and lemon juice; Throw Another Shrimp On The Derby, which combined the gin with Aperol, rhubarb and cherry tea syrup, lime juice and peach bitters; I Can Feel It In My Plums, a mixture of Brookie’s Slow Gin with lemon juice, apple juice, vanilla syrup, Cocchi Rosa and plum bitters; and You Little Ripper, a mixture of Brookie’s Slow Gin with grapefruit juice and honey syrup.
The event also coincided with the launch of a new macadamia-flavoured liqueur from the brand, called Mac by Brookie’s.
The liqueur is described as having “decadent flavours of butterscotch, cacao and coffee”.
