Bar between Ayr and the deep blue sea

Revenue could be grown at Wellingtons

A TRADITIONAL bar in Ayr has come onto the market for the first time in almost three decades.

Wellingtons, on the town’s Wellington Square, is close to Ayr’s town centre and its beach, and is up for sale to allow the current owner to retire.

The outlet occupies the lower ground and part of the ground floor of a terraced Georgian property.

The bar has a commercial kitchen; and there’s two-bedroom owner’s accommodation in a courtyard to the rear of the venue.

Shepherd Chartered Surveyors’ Kevin Bell said: “The business is essentially wet sales-led and is indeed an award-winning real ale venue, with food sales limited to lunchtimes only.

“While the bar has been consistently profitable and is showing increasing levels of turnover, there is scope to further develop trade, particularly the food side of the business. With the bar qualifying for 100% rates remission under the Small Business Bonus Scheme, we anticipate keen interest in this attractive opportunity.”

Offers over £350,000 are invited for the freehold of Wellingtons.
