Kopparberg moves into gin

KOPPARBERG has become the latest drinks company to embrace the gin boom with the launch of Kopparberg Premium Gin.

The 37.5% ABV spirit will be launched in 700 Greene King pubs across the UK on May 6 and will be widely available soon afterwards.

In a nod to the Swedish cider-maker’s most well-known flavour, the gin has been infused with a strawberry and lime flavour.

Kopparberg is promoting two serves with the gin: poured over ice, mixed with lemonade and garnished with fresh strawberry and lime; and mixed with tonic and garnished with cucumber and basil.

Rob Salvesen, head of marketing at Kopparberg, said: “We’ve made it our mission to use our drinks knowledge and flavour expertise to bring the spirit of Kopparberg to life. Not many know that we brew and distil many other drinks in our brewery in Sweden and with over ten years’ experience in distilling gin, as well as our success as flavour leaders here in the UK and around the world, it was an obvious decision for us to introduce Kopparberg Premium Gin in one of our most iconic flavours.

“This focus on flavour, combined with our premium fruit refreshment positioning is what we feel will set us apart from other pink gins on the market.”
