Wine café is purrfect addition to area

The new Whiskers Wine Café in Stockbridge

NEW owners are set to reaffirm wine’s prominence at the former Henri café and deli in Stockbridge, Edinburgh.

Opening the Raeburn Place unit, which was once a Peckham’s outlet, as Whiskers Wine Café, chef Jonnie and Lorraine Cook are trading as a café by day and switch to a more wine-focused operation at night.

Alan Goldie, director at The Restaurant Agency, who handled the sale, said: “Drawing on his experience at One Square to the George Hotel, Jonnie has an extensive knowledge of the food scene in and around Edinburgh. Whiskers draws on popular demand for wine bar/café concepts throughout the city.”

The unit was sold from an asking price of £95,000 for the leasehold.
