A HOTEL in Aviemore which dates back to the 1700s has new owners at the helm.

The Rowan Tree Country Hotel, which occupies a property that is said to be one of the oldest inns in the Spey Valley, is located three miles from the centre of Aviemore.

The hotel comprises 12 letting bedrooms, as well as “stunning [and] spacious” public rooms, all set against the backdrop of Loch Alvie to the rear of the property.

New owners, Jonny and Tamsina Cassidy, are said to have plans to grow the business.

The property was marketed via ASG Commercial with an asking price of offers in the region of £680,000 for the freehold.

The final sale price was not disclosed.
