A FORMER banker has turned her dream of running her own venue into reality after purchasing a hospitality business on the Isle of Mull.

Laura Pitchford, originally from north Wales, secured funding from Barclays to purchase Argyll House and the Coffee Pot – a self-catering accommodation business and tearoom located on the east coast of the island in the village of Salen (between Craignure and Tobermory).

Argyll House, which provides accommodation for up to ten overnight guests across four holiday apartments alongside tearoom the Coffee Pot, which seats up to 18, is said to be a focal point for the village of Salen and the local community.

Laura, who has been a regular visitor to Mull for more than two decades, said: “Running my own business is something I’ve wanted to do for some time and when the opportunity arose to purchase Argyll House and the Coffee Pot on the Isle of Mull, it was the ideal chance.

“I’m really excited about the future, looking forward to embracing island life and expanding and developing an already established business.”
