FOOD wholesaler Brakes is aiming to help operators offer a point of difference this winter as it announced details of its 2018 Christmas range, which includes new free-from options and classic festive dishes as well as tableware lines.
With the market for free-from food continuing to exhibit strong year on year growth, Brakes said having a full gluten-free Christmas dinner and vegetarian options on festive menus is “crucial”.
The firm is providing a cumin butternut squash and lentil wellington (above) as one such alternative for vegetarians.
New products for this Christmas include whole Norfolk turkeys, pumpkin and sage tortelloni, mince pie ice cream and a range of British cheeses.
Created in partnership with Brakes’ team of in-house chefs, the festive range also has options for every course – from pates and charcuterie to Scottish mussels in a bisque, all the trimmings, and classic Christmas puddings.
