New appointment is a stroke of genius

Loch Lomond Whiskies has continued to grow its connections to golf with the recruitment of US professional golfer Cristie Kerr as a brand ambassador.

Kerr, who has recorded 20 wins on the LPGA Tour, including two majors, joins fellow pro golfers Colin Montgomerie and Paul Lawrie on the ambassadorial team.

Loch Lomond is also the official spirit of The Open, Women’s British Open and Ladies Scottish Open.

In addition to golf, Kerr also has prior experience in the drinks industry as the owner of wine company Kerr Cellars. She has secured the Level 1 Court of Master Sommeliers certificate.

“We are very proud to be associated with Cristie as our first ambassador in women’s golf,” said Loch Lomond Group chief executive, Colin Matthews.

“We hope that this association will demonstrate both our enthusiasm for the future of the women’s game as well as our ambition to introduce our diverse award-winning Scotch whisky brands to many new consumers to enjoy.”

Ahead of the Women’s British Open, which took place at Royal Lytham & St Annes last month, Kerr worked with the Loch Lomond team to create a signature cocktail, The Kerr, which was served in the Loch Lomond Bar during the tournament.

The serve combined Loch Lomond 12 year old with raspberry and vanilla syrup and smoked grapefruit bitters.
