Coopers check cask quality

Meijer, José Luis and Juan Manuel with Palmer.

GLENROTHES distillery InchDairnie welcomed visitors from Spanish cooperage Toneleria JL Rodriguez earlier this month to inspect the quality of Andalusian wine casks which the distillery recently imported from southern Spain.

Father and son coopers José Luis and Juan Manuel Rodriguez along with export manager Henk Meijer met InchDairnie MD Ian Palmer and agreed plans for the next five years of cask production and seasoning. The casks will be used to mature the summer, autumn and winter InchDairnie single malt whiskies.

It comes after Palmer visited the cooperage earlier this year to ensure the casks fulfilled the distillery’s requirements.
