PICKERING’S, the Edinburgh-based gin distiller, took its first step towards world domination last month when it opened a new gin bar in Beijing, China.
The Pickering’s Gin and Seafood Bar, located in Beijing’s Sanlitun area, close to the British Embassy, sells a range of cocktails and Scottish seafood. The venue has been opened in partnership with Chinese craft brewer Pandabrew, which approached Pickering’s through the brewery’s Scottish distributor, Filshill. Pickering’s plans to open more bar restaurants across China in the coming years.
Pickering’s co-founder, Marcus Pickering, said the venue “is a celebration of the best to come from Scotland’s exceptional waters”.
“From gin to salmon, whisky to beer – we’ll be flying the flag for quality Scottish produce in China,” said Pickering.
