EDINBURGH Beer Factory has released its Paolozzi Unfiltered Helles Lager on draught.
The launch of 30-litre kegs last month comes after the Munich Helles-style lager was made available in 330ml cans.
Paolozzi is lagered for five to six weeks, which is said to give it “real depth of flavour and a smooth, satisfying mouth-feel” – all of which is said to be “fully appreciated” in its unfiltered form.
As with its Paolozzi lager and Bunk beers, Edinburgh Beer Factory said it will make a charitable donation to the Paolozzi Foundation for every pint and can sold. Eduardo Paolozzi, an artist and sculptor born in Leith to Italian parents, is credited as a pioneer of pop art whose Manuscript of Monte Cassino sculpture (the ‘big foot’) is at the top of Leith Walk, while his Vulcan sculpture and a recreation of his studio can be found in the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art Two.
