SCOTTISH drinks firm Ian Macleod Distillers had reason to celebrate recently when its Edinburgh Gin picked up a gold medal in the International Spirits Challenge.

The award, for the brand’s premix gin and tonic, comes just two months after the product was launched.

The company also produces a premix Rhubarb & Ginger Gin Liqueur with ginger ale.

“It’s always a proud moment when a distinguished awarding body recognises one of our products so soon after launching to the market,” said Neil Boyd, UK managing director of Ian Macleod Distillers.

“We strive for excellence in absolutely everything we do at Edinburgh Gin, and this award just underlines this.”

More than 1600 spirits were blind-tasted by a panel of 50 industry experts for this year’s International Spirits Challenge.
