Brewer puts beer quality on tap

BETTER beer, less wastage and more money in the till – those are some of the benefits Tennent’s said its new quality programme will bring on-trade operators.

As part of the Tennent’s Lager Care (TLC) initiative, Tennent’s customers are being invited to the Tennent’s Training Academy at Wellpark Brewery to participate in an interactive training programme, which covers all aspects of beer quality, including cellar management, glass care and front-of-house hygiene; the programme also includes the ‘Lock-in’ – an industry escape room where bar staff work against the clock to put what they have learned into practice by identifying quality issues that might arise in the bar and cellar. The TLC programme will also be available online at MyTennents.com later this year.

Claire Arnott, head of UK customer marketing at Tennent’s, said: “We know drinkers love a great-tasting, refreshing pint of Tennent’s Lager so we’ve created this innovative training programme to support pubs, clubs, hotels and restaurants with the tools needed to ensure a quality pint. We are delighted to be bringing this programme to our customers and look forward to working with them to ensure that Tennent’s drinkers receive a quality pint each and every pour.”
