Operators eye more growth in the Borders

A HUSBAND and wife team have expanded their Borders business with the acquisition of a guest house in the town of Eyemouth.

Gary and Zoe Steenvoorden bought The Glenerne with the help of a six-figure funding package from Royal Bank of Scotland.

The six-bedroom property is the third guest house owned and operated by the couple, who have built up a hospitality business in the town since relocating from Lincolnshire in 2012.

Gary said The Glenerne is the latest addition to “our growing family tourism business”. “We’re grateful to Royal Bank of Scotland for the funding and continued support of our business,” he said. “We now look forward to being able to put our own stamp on the guest house, which offers visitors a luxurious but affordable hotel option when visiting Eyemouth.”
