GLASGOW Distillery Company, producer of Makar Gin, is set to expand its offering across both the on and off-trade in the UK and Ireland after signing a new distribution deal with Halewood Wines & Spirits.
The Liverpool-based distributor’s portfolio will now include Glasgow’s Makar Gin range as well as its G52 Urban Craft Vodka, providing new routes to market for the products.
Liam Hughes, chief executive and co-founder of Glasgow Distillery Company, said: “Our Makar Gin has enjoyed a lot of success in Scotland, with growth more than doubling in recent years, and working with Halewood gives us an exciting opportunity to widen the net and deliver our products to the UK and Ireland in both the on and off-trade.”
John Bradbury, UK managing director at Halewood Wines & Spirits, said the addition of Makar means the firm is “fast becoming the go-to premium craft gin distributor in the country”.
