CUSTOMERS of drinks supplier Matthew Clark are being invited to enter its first ever cocktail competition.
The Stir It Up contest has been launched in collaboration with 30 spirits brands and forms part of the company’s wider focus on cocktails in 2018.
Entrants are asked to create a summer cocktail recipe which contains five ingredients or less and can be prepared in under 90 seconds. Bartenders have until February 28 to enter through the Matthew Clark website.
The creators of the top 40 recipes will be invited to participate in regional heats across the UK, with the first taking place in Edinburgh bar The Voyage of Buck on March 20. The top two finalists from each heat will then progress to the grand final in London on April 10 for the chance to win a five-night trip to the US and feature in Matthew Clark’s summer cocktail activity.
Although the main competition is open to Matthew Clark customers only, bartenders from non-customer outlets can enter a separate ‘wildcard’ section of the contest through Matthew Clark’s social media channels.
